Live Ore Counter documentation.
Install the Live Ore Counter Fabric mod or Paper plugin, confirm compatibility, enable ore tracking and troubleshoot the most common setup problems.
Install Live Ore Counter
Choose the download that matches your edition. Fabric mods are installed in the client/instance mods folder; Paper plugins belong in the server plugins folder. Do not interchange the builds.
Fabric mod installation
- Use a Minecraft Java Edition instance compatible with the current Fabric release (the linked listing currently shows 1.21.11).
- Install the appropriate Fabric Loader. Check the download page for any additional dependencies.
- Download the Fabric mod JAR and place it in your instance's
modsfolder. - Launch that instance, mine a supported ore and check that the HUD counter changes.
- Review available HUD controls and goal commands for the version you installed.
Paper plugin installation
- Use a compatible Paper server. The Paper Modrinth listing currently marks 1.21.9–1.21.11 compatible.
- Download the Paper plugin JAR, not the Fabric mod JAR.
- Stop the server, copy the JAR into the
pluginsfolder, then start the server. - Join, mine a supported ore and verify the in-game Action Bar counter changes.
- Optionally accept the prompt for the icon resource pack. The plugin listing describes a normal-text fallback.
Commands and displays
The commands below are explicitly mentioned in published edition listings. Some subcommands or options can differ by version.
/or stats— inspect saved ore statistics./or— ore counter and challenge commands; use in-game command suggestions to explore supported options./iconsor/loadpack— request the optional Paper ore-icon pack again, where supported by the installed release.
Counting and Goal Mode
Published feature lists include Fortune-aware counting, separate saved ore totals, and exclusion of Silk Touch-mined ores. Goal Mode offers Hard, Extreme and Insane presets, custom targets, randomized challenges, rerolls, timers, milestone notifications, and pause/resume controls.
On Fabric, look for the movable HUD; on Paper, the server-side tracker displays information in the Action Bar. Keep the official resource pack optional unless your particular server requires its icons.
Quick troubleshooting
- Nothing appears in-game? Verify that the JAR matches Fabric or Paper, check the release's supported Minecraft version, and restart/relaunch the appropriate environment.
- No icons on Paper? Check whether the icon resource pack was accepted. The Paper release describes text fallback and re-prompt commands.
- Statistics seem incorrect? Record the ore type, Fortune or Silk Touch level, game version, installed mod/plugin version, and steps to reproduce.
- Crashes or startup errors? Check the game/server log for the actual error and confirm any dependencies listed on the official release page.
